Colored Rice Art

For Father’s Day my daughter and I did a fun new project with colored rice. It was a blast to do and the textured art work looks so pretty. All you need is rice, food coloring, glue, and paper. Its also great for a sensory project for toddlers and preschool age kids. Nasreen loved playing with the colored rice.

facebook-6833You simple mix the uncooked dry rice with a couple drops of food coloring and make sure they all the rice is coated. You may have to let it dry for a few minutes. I put it in the oven for a few minutes.

Just simply put designs on the paper with glue and pour the rice over it. You may have to press the rice down lightly to make sure it sticks. Then pour off the remaining rice.

proud of her gift for daddy!

She loved the feel of it, and rice is really easy to clean up. So mommy was happy too

  1. What a creative and fun activity for you and your daughter to enjoy! Never even thought of doing this. We always make patterns out of this during one of our rituals during Punjabi weddings but never thought of any other use for it! Clever 🙂
