Red, White, and Blue Trifle: Refreshing and Delicious Summer Dessert Especially for the 4th of July!

I love a Trifle! They are sweet, and filled with fruit and so creamy! How can you go wrong! Perfect for the summer heat . You can honestly make a trifle out of any combination of pudding, cake, whip cream, and fruit you choose. Get creative!

Here is a red white and blue trifle I made about a year ago in honor of my sister leaving for boot camp for the Navy. She wanted something light because of stick diet requirements. This is a great Trifle in honor of Forth of July and USA colors!

Ingredients

2 cups (1 pint) Heavy Whipping Cream very cold ( or kool whip)

2 (12 oz) angel food cake or pound cake

1 cup cold milk (any kind, but I used whole milk)
5.1 oz package instant vanilla pudding
2 lbs mixed berries, I used strawberries, blue berries, and raspberries

Directions

Make the pudding as directed, set aside.

Make the cake and set aside and let cool completely.

Once cool tear the cake in small chunks

Whip the cream or use already whipped cream.

Layer a clear bowl with the 1/3 of the fruit then 1/4 of the pulled apart cake, 1/3 of pudding and then 1/3 of the whipped cream as shown in the picture. Repeat the layers until the bowl is filled. Let sit in the refrigerator for at least an hour before serving. To let the flavors really set!

Enjoy!
